Get the facts about pneumonia from Northwest Health Systems

I see patients everyday who have the symptoms of pneumonia and these are some of the questions I ask:

1. Do you smoke? If yes, have you cut down your smoking during this illness?
2. Are you coughing up any sputum? If so, what color is it?
3. Do you experience any shortness of breathe when you walk or strain?
4. Have you been drinking plenty of fluids?
5. Have you had a fever?
6. Do you have a history of asthma or other breathing difficulty?

If you come to the ER for treatment be prepared to answers these questions so the Physician and Respiratory Care Practitioner can better assist you.
