...the place to be in Northwest Arkansas

Sam McMillan

Who was more important to you, your father or your mother?

My parents were already quite old when I was born and I always felt they were my grand parents and not my mother and father. My father was quite stern in a quite way. My mother was gentle and warm hearted. Today I tell people about my mother more than my father. So I'd say my mother had a greater influence on me.

My mother, definitely, my father was on drugs when i was very young, and they split up, i dont remember much about those days, though when i was about 6 or 7 he came clean, and i love my father and am very proud of his accomplishments. My mother remarried when i was about 4, and i didnt care much for my step dad, he was very controlling, and plain out mean half the time, i remember hateing him when i was a kid, not just fake kiddy hate, but i really hated him.
My mother was always there, always working hard to make ends meet, and make sure everyone was taken care of, she is very soft spoken and rarely gets mad, though she probably should have more often. But my mom will always be dearest to my heart, and if it werent for her i would probably be a very bitter person.

Among the Chinese, we sing the folk song which goes..."Sze Sung tze yuo ma ma hou, yuo ma te hai tze sian girl pao...meaning "In this world, there is only one person who loves you always, your mom. With her presence, you will always be loved and treasured!"
